Lan Hin Tak

ลานหินแตก ลานหินกว้างใหญ่มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ 40 ไร่ เป็นหินทรายที่มีรอยแตก เป็นแนวเป็นร่องเหมือนแผ่นดินแยก รอยแตกนี้ มีขนาดต่างๆกัน บ้างก็เป็นซอกเล็กๆแคบๆ บ้างก็กว้างพอข้ามพ้น แต่บางรอยก็กว้างมากจนต้องทอดสะพานข้าม หากมองจากภาพถ่ายทางอากาศจะเห็นรอยแตกนี้มีอยู่หลายสิบร่อง

บริเวณหินแตกยังปกคลุมไปด้วยมอส ไลเคนส์ ตะไคร่ เฟิน และกล้วยไม้ชนิดต่างๆ ลานหินแตกนี้เป็นจุดท่องเที่ยวที่มีชื่อเสียงมากที่สุดในอุทยานแห่งชาติภูหินร่องกล้า ตั้งห่างจากฐานพัชรินทร์ ที่ทำการอุทยานประมาณ 300 เมตร มีเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติลานหินแตก ไปจนถึงจุดชมวิว ตลอดเส้นทางเดินจะได้เห็นภูมิลักษณ์เฉพาะของลานหินแตก พืชหลายชนิดที่เจริญงอกงามอยู่ตามซอกหิน ได้เห็นดอกเปราะภูสีขาวสวย และไปจบโปรแกรมท่องเที่ยววันนี้ด้วยการไปชมตะวันลับฟ้าที่จุดชมวิว

ลานหินแตก มีลักษณะเป็นลานหินที่มีรอยแตกเป็นแนวยาวเหมือนแผ่นดินแยก มีความกว้างประมาณ ๑ - ๒ เมตร และมีความลึกหลายเมตร บางร่องจะมีเสียงน้ำไหลอยู่เบื้องล่าง ลานหินแตกนี้เกิดจากการเคลื่อนตัวของเปลือกโลก เมื่อประมาณ ๕๕ ล้านปีมาแล้ว หินเหล่านี้ถูกบีบอัดจากทางด้านทิศตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ และตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ ทำให้ลานหินในบริเวณนี้ ถูกดันให้โก่งตัวขึ้น มีลักษณะเหมือนประทุนคว่ำ มีปลายเอียงลงทางทิศตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือ การโก่งตัวดังกล่าวทำให้หินเกิดรอยเหลื่อม หรือรอยเลื่อนเป็นแนวตั้งฉากกัน

ต่อมาเกิดการฉีกขาดทำให้เกิดรอยเลื่อนทางทิศตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือ และตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ และเกิดรอยเลื่อนทางด้านทิศตะวันออกในแนวทางเหนือใต้ ทำให้แนวหินบนภูหินร่องกล้ายกตัวสูง ส่วนรอยแตก และรอยร่องลึก ส่วนหนึ่งเกิดจากขบวนการทางธรรมชาติ ทำให้เกิดการผุพังทลายของหิน และถูกน้ำกัดเซาะ
