Sukhothai Hotels

Sukhothai was Thailand’s first capital dated back between late 14th century and 16th century. During this period, Sukhothai accumulated wealth and prosperity, and reached its apex during King Ramkhamhaeng’s reign. He established guidelines for administrative, political, economic and religious practices. Most importantly, he invented the Thai alphabet signified the final emergence of a true nation of Thailand. In terms of arts, the Phum Khao Bin or lotus-bud summit stupa, exquisite Buddha images and Sangkhalok pottery are among unique Sukhothai-style architectural structure and artifacts that portray Kingdom’s timeless treasures. For these reasons, in December 1991 Sukhothai has been acknowledged by UNESCO as one of the world heritage sites.
