Phuket Nightlife

Patong Beach is by far, the central hub of all tourist nightlife on Phuket. Here, located within a radius of half a kilometer around Soi Bangla, are over 150 clubs, pubs, discos and Go Go bars.

However, there are other destinations offering just as much fun and variety, and for those of you who fancy a break from the hardcore revelry of Patong, there are numerous options available. Be it a quiet drink by the water’s edge, a sophisticated evening of live jazz or a boogie with the locals Thai-style, its all within easy reach.

So, grab your glad rags, but leave the scooter at your hotel!. If you’re still hungry for more, after a great day out, you won’t be disappointed by the range of entertainment and nightlife Phuket has to offer.Nearly all the tourist areas have some bars where you can enjoy a drink, though you will need to head over to the larger resort areas such as Patong or Karon for a more vibrant atmosphere.

Patong Nightlife

Patong is without a doubt the centre of the island’s nightlife scene. Bars in Patong can be roughly divided into beer bars, go-go bars and regular bars (which don’t have ladies for take out). The scene in Patong is centred around Bangla road and its many offshoots

Kata Nightlife

Kata Beach has a small but quite wellrounded nightlife scene. There aren’t any clubs or discos but there is a fair selection of bars that are popular with tourists and expats alike. The bars in Kata are nearly all concentrated along Taina and Patak roads

Karon Nightlife

Nightlife in Karon is quite low-key compared to Patong, although there is enough here for a fun night out. The scene is centred around two areas, Karon Circle and Luang Pho Chuan Road, with some quieter bars located on Patak Road (East), the main road running behind Karon

Beer Bars

These are usually a small bar with a few stools. You can have a beer and play games or chat with the ladies working in the bar. Popular games include connect four, jenga, dice games and “hit the nail with the hammer”

Go Go Bars

Girls in go-go bars dance on stage often wearing nothing more than a bikini, or even less depending on the bar and the local authorities. The girls may spend time with the customers when they are not on stage

Live Music

If you prefer live bands to DJ spun tunes try one of Patong’s two Irish pubs, Molly Malone’s and Scruffy Murphy’s. Scruffy’s is located on Bangla, while Molly’s is next to McDonald’s on the beach road

Pool & Sports Bars

Quite a few bars will show live sports matches from around the world. The English Premiership is particularly popular but other leagues and sports are also shown, including rugby, Aussie rules and formula one
