Aleenta Resort and Spa Phuket, Phang-nga

As a place to relax and unwind Aleenta is fabulous. The rooms are great, the pools brilliant (particularly if you are lucky enough to have your own private pool), and the service and food wonderful. We stayed in one of the upper floor pool apartments - we had two floors to ourselves (sitting room, kitchen, dining area, bedroom, bathroom, 3/4 terraces and private infinity pool) - what a treat. We hardly saw another guest, although you could be more sociable if you wanted to. The staff were great. Attentive but not overly familiar. And the Spa was also fantastic. They knew exactly how to treat a pregnant woman, and even my husband (who never usually does this) loved his massage. We went for a proper rest and romantic interlude before the birth of our baby and I can't recommend it highly enough.

I went on this trip with another female friend and it was still romantic! The area was quiet and yet not too far from the Phuket airport. I've found the beach itself much nicer than Phuket beach because: 1. There are only private houses next to the hotel so the beach is almost empty...very secluded.
