Good hotel with friendly staff in a great location
My husband and I are in our early thirties and love to travel to beautiful places and look for 5* quality in the hotels we stay in. We've just returned from an amazing holiday in Thailand which included 4 nights at the New Star Beach Resort in Koh Samui.
Good things about the hotel:
*Unexpectedly we received a free upgrade (from a Palm Room) to a Pool Suite Villa. The suite was spacious and it was great to have our own private pool
*The beach is sandy with good swimming opportunities
*We were very happy with the location as it was just outside of the lively main Chaweng area (approx 5 mins taxi ride) but there were plenty of nearby restaurants
*The hotel pool was fantastic - perfect temperature, huge, and beautiful views of the beach.
*Reception staff were outstanding - very helpful and friendly (although some were lacking in great English).

AMAZING!!! TOTAL PARADISE
My husband and myself went for a little over a week vacation in Koh Samui and we just lucked out with our hotel stay at New Star... It was the most AMAZING place ever. The service was unbelievable!! the staff was so friendly, approachable, and helpful.. The facility itself was absolutely stunning. The location was perfect. On a nice stretch of a quite beach. A great place to relax and unwind. A good walking distance away from the craziness of downtown. We would definitely come here again. We just want to go back to thailand just to stay at the hotel again. the only slightly negative part was that there was some construction going on next door for another resort, but the hotel had no control over that.
