Bophut Overview

Bophut Beach is a beach village with the village located in the middle of the beach. The long beach extends a few kilometers from Maenam Beach to Big Buddha Beach. The village known as Fisherman’s village is one of the unspoilt treasures of Koh Samui.

The entire beach area retains its original Sino-Thai atmosphere. Even though in the recent years, land development is taking place, it is concentrated on the western end of the beach. The Fisherman’s village located at the other end of the beach is a tourist’s delight.

The Fisherman’s village has rows of old Chinese wooden shops-cum-houses. Mingling well with the ancient structures is the modern ones with a Mediterranean touch. These buildings are remainders of the island’s history as a French outpost.

The village has some excellent jewelry shops and boutiques with quality products. There are a few diving schools offering lessons and diving trips to the famous Ang Thong Marine Park, Koh Tao and Sail Rock.
